GTI Southern Open TKD Championships 2004

 

The competition this year was relocated to the Tewkesbury leisure centre & was well supported by the host association as well as contingents from WMST, AIMAA, SWIFT, FSMA, TAGB, Bromyard TKD & Evolution.

GTI Cornish Open TKD Championships 2004

 

The tournament was situated at the excellent venue of the Dragon Leisure Centre in Bodmin. The competition was strongly supported by members from Evolution TKD, Torbay UKTA, Turners TKD & other ITF groups.

GTI English TKD Championships 2004

 

Swindon was this years choice for the GTI’s English championships. The tournament was hosted by Miss Sarah Nash of Swindon & Mr Jason Burgess of Wells. Invited guests included an Irish select team from Southern Ireland who participated in the competition.

There are 24 patterns in Taekwondo, ranging from 19 move patterns to 72 move patterns. The initial patterns are very symmetrical & most combinations or movements are repeated with both sides of the body, in opposite directions. These first few patterns are reasonably basic & introduce the novice student to the most common stances, blocking techniques, strikes & kicks....(more)
